weeklies 18-12

After our end of the year heavy weekly links last week, we go back to a more balanced reporting; everything from the possibility of mosques becoming more feminist in Istanbul to more end of the year lists:

– Last Saturday, Leymah Gbowee, Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Tawakkol Karman were (officially) awarded the Nobel Peace Price.

– And on Sunday night, the second trailer/teaser of Game Of Thrones Season 2 came out: Watch it on The Hollywood Reporter

Can Turkey make its mosques feminist? by the Atlantic.

– And it seems that Feminist Ryan Gosling has inspired a spinoff: Feminist Gael Garcia Bernal. It’s hot.

– Stereogum has the Gummy Awards 2011! (yes, we are still not done with end of the year lists)

– There is still time for more lists: Longform has published their best long reads for 2011. That should be interesting, and take the whole weekend…

– Lists, you say? Buzzfeed has selected the Top 40 awesome protest signs of 2011 from a variety of different protests. 2011 was rich with those.

– And of course, what is an end of the year list without an unhappy commenter? NPR has picked the Top 20 Unhappiest People You Will Meet In the Comments.
